The Picturebooks - The Early Years

The Picturebooks is a German Rock band from Gütersloh. Bassist Tim Bohlmann left the group in 2010, shortly after the release of "Artificial Tears". The band was founded in 2009 and initially consisted of the singer and guitarist Fynn Grabke, the bassist Tim Bohlmann and the drummer Philipp Mirtschink. Fynn Grabke is the son of Claus Grabke , who was German skateboarding champion several times and who later worked as a singer in the bands Eight Dayz , Thumb and Alternative Allstars . Claus Grabke is active as a manager and producer for the Picturebooks . In the year it was founded, the band was released by the Berlin- based record label Noisolution , who then released the debut album "List of People to Kill" . After concerts in the opening act for The (International) Noise Conspiracy , Taking Back Sunday or Millencollin . The second work, "Artificial Tears", followed a year later . The band played at the Reeperbahn Festival , the Omas Teich Festival and at Olgas Rock. A short time later, bassist Tim Bohlmann quit because he imagined a different life. The musicians are still close friends with Bohlmann today. Fynn Grabke and Philipp Mirtschink decided to continue as a duo and briefly thought about changing the band name. Because the Picturebooks were already internationally active at this time, these plans were discarded. The two musicians then traveled through the USA and were inspired to correct the musical course. Before The Picturebooks were a two-piece, they had a third member and brought out two albums. He left them and they became what we now know as The Picturebooks. Still, these early songs are awesome and they are released, both of these albums ("List Of People To Kill" and "Artificial Tears") on vinyl !!! To make it as good as possible, they added four unreleased songs and a 28-page, 12" booklet !!! This double vinyl release comes in a super cool gatefold cover !
