Mr. Sipp - Sippnotized

28-10-2021

Castro Coleman, also known as Mr. Sipp "Mississippi Blues Child" was born on August 25, 1976 in the small town of McComb, MS. With gospel as a base, Sipp began to play the guitar at the age of six, supported by a family dedicated body and soul to music. At present he is already a benchmark within the Blues, being even awarded numerous prizes for the best album, best guitarist ... A musician who despite his success, does not renounce his roots and the example is this new album where he delights us once again with a good batch of songs full of nuances Blues, Soul, Funk ... in the purest Mr. Sipp style. An album for which he once again has his inseparable "Mississippi Blues Child". And another clear example that he is a musician with principles, is the resignation of him to numerous offers from different record companies, to continue working with the legendary and humble Malaco Records. All those who have seen it live are sure to want to see it again, and can even claim to have been hypnotized by Mr. Sipp. So while we keep waiting for that long-awaited concert, at least we can enjoy this new album "Sippnotized", which we bring you next "Let's Have A Good Time". Mr. Sipp "The Mississippi Blues Child" is the alter ego of singer/guitarist Castro Coleman, because that is his real name. Since his performances at Moulin Blues 2015 and 2017, this fascinating artist is no longer unknown. Sipp is from McComb (Pike County), a small town in the state of Mississippi, about 80 miles south of the capital Jackson. The town was founded in 1872 and is named after Henry Simpson McComb, director of a railroad company. McComb turns out to be fertile blues soil, because artists like Bo Diddley, King Solomon Hill and Omar Kent Dykes also come from here. Sipp started playing guitar when he was six. Hard work has made Sipp what he is today. A singer-songwriter, composer, multi-instrumentalist and above all a great musician and unique performer. mr. Sipp already won several music awards in 2014, but is also "so excited" with two nominations at the recent 47th Jackson Music Awards. He has toured extensively, including appearances at the Chicago Blues Festival, the Crescent City Blues & BBQ Festival and the Legendary Rhythm and Blues Cruise, as well as tours of Europe, Brazil and even China. His debut album, he has previously been heard on more than fifty gospel albums, 'It's My Guitar' was released in 2013, 'The Mississippi Blues Child' followed in 2015 and in 2017 #3, 'Knock a Hole in It'. On every album he proved that he is a real blues man, who does not deny his roots. In his songwriting, Sipp knows how to combine contemporary sensibility with the magic of his blues guitar. His impressive vocals will never force the intensity of the emotions, combined with genuine tenderness. It was then a four-year wait for "Sippnotized", which he re-released on the legendary but modest Malaco Records. On 10 songs he lets us enjoy "his" funky Blues & Soul with his typical style. On the opener "Let's Have a Good Time" you are immediately invited to join the party. The dreamy "Gonna Be Alright" is very soulful and the very danceable title song with a message and a high radio content, "Sippnotized" very funky. The quiet "Free" is another song with a tidings, Sipp's call to "I just wanna be free!...". Sipp also vents his heart on the funky "F 2020" and to be able to fully go for it, you have to go to the dance floor for "The Mississippi Step". There follow the necessary dance instructions. "Can You Feel Me Now", what a song, what a groove! You can cool down during "Fallen Loved Ones" and the bluesy "Dirty Mississippi Blues", on which Sipp's guitar ignites. The closing track "The One" wrote a grateful Sipp (like all the other songs on the album) especially for the fans, because without them music is nothing. Everyone who has already experienced him live, certainly wants to see and undergo him again after these dark corona months - preferably as soon as possible. Meanwhile, enjoying his new album 'Sippnotized', you can already be hypnotized by this amiable Mr. Sipp.
