Christopher Paul Stelling – Forgiving It All

Christopher Paul Stelling (born February 19, 1982) is a singer-songwriter and guitarist currently based in Asheville, North Carolina. Stelling was born in Daytona Beach, Florida, and has also resided in Colorado, Washington, Massachusetts, and North Carolina. A singer, songwriter, and virtuoso fingerpicker, Christopher Paul Stelling crafts timeless-sounding acoustic confections that draw from all corners of the American roots music spectrum. He has extensively toured the United States and Europe. Pretty soon after "Best of Luck" the successor "Forgiving It All", with thirty minutes of fine songs as I am used to from American singer-songwriter Christopher Paul Stelling. Usually all he needs is his signature, moving vocals and the soft rippling sound of his finger-picking guitar playing and that's what it is on this album. Modest, reflective and a little nostalgic. Recorded after the death of his beloved grandmother. "Forgiving It All" reminds me of his solo performance during Pop Up 010 in Rotterdam a few years ago. The man and his guitar with his beautiful songs, with which he travels around the world and performs wherever he can. The length of "Forgiving It All" is more than enough. Because at some point you long for just that little bit extra and you don't get that this time. It must be pure. Thirty minutes on a silver platter.
